Valeria Tutrinoli - Shorewood Garden is a creation of garden rooms connected by a maze of walking paths. Purchased in 1990, the property, once the home of a 1930's motor court, was clay and sand overgrown with brush. Taming the yard required removing briers, old buildings, and fallen trees. Valeria still spends every morning working in the garden before heading off to open her will-known gift shop, Toad Hall.
Today the garden has evolved into a diverse landscape filled with wildflowers, perennials, trees, grasses, and ferns. Rocks, statuary and bird feeders enhance the park-like feel.
